Talk: THE RADICAL PRODUCT APPROACH TO DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION - RADHIKA DUTT
By now we’ve learned the “right” way to build anything digital: launch something and iterate quickly based on customer feedback. Organizations gain a competitive advantage by iterating faster and trying more things. As a result, we place emphasis on being agile and optimizing processes to help us iterate faster. We don’t question if all the iteration is necessary.
This approach has led us to what Radhika Dutt calls the Iteration Epidemic that we’re in today. We try to copy the success stories of companies that found success by trying one strategy, then pivoting to a second or third. Those stories are fun to read about, but for every success that was achieved this way, there’s a graveyard of failures that we never hear about.
The iterative approach doesn't lead to world-changing products, only small evolutionary changes. If you want to create change, you need to build radical products. This talk is about a big idea that challenges conventional thinking. It’s a fundamentally different way of looking at products and a practical approach for systematically building successful, world-changing ideas.
