ISKO SG Annual general meeting
& talk on Managing change, navigating change or influencing change? Building effective change mechanisms into knowledge management
Our Annual General Meeting for 2021 will be held virtually by Zoom Conferencing, in accordance with the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) Act 2020 and the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) (Alternative Arrangements for Registered Societies) Order 2020.
Non-members are welcome to attend the pre-AGM talk from Patrick Lambe as well as the AGM itself, although only members will be allowed to vote. All attendees must register in advance of the session, and for voting purposes, all ISKO Singapore members must verify their identity using a video link upon entering. Members are welcome to nominate a proxy for voting if they are not able to attend. Please inform us if you wish to appoint a proxy. The 2021 AGM is an election AGM and a new Exco will be elected for the next two years.
Change management has had a chequered history over the past 70 years. Within management it has variously been approached as a form of propaganda or method of communications, a means of soliciting political support for an initiative, or a collaborative framing of change. Despite their inconsistencies, each of these mental models is layered on top of the other - leading to confusion about what we are trying to achieve in change management. In this session Patrick will use case studies to describe how change has worked in organisations attempting to implement knowledge management, and will suggest an approach to change that supports knowledge management goals rather than undermining them. This talk is based on research for Patrick's forthcoming book on Knowledge Auditing and Knowledge Mapping.
