Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) uses artificial intelligence and text analytics tools to convert unstructured documents into structured data. Applications can include:
In this talk, Maish Nichani will take us through some typical use cases, explain how IDP can improve knowledge organisation and digitalisation efforts, as well as the end user experience, and he will show us some demos of how it works in practice.
- radically streamlining form-based processes such as expenses claims, application and approval processes
- extracting and/or validating key information in supporting documents (e.g. Covid test results, vaccination certificates, examination certificates)
- extracting key data from tables in reports, articles and papers, into database formats for processing and analysis
- capturing key metadata around meetings from meeting documents (attendees, times, dates, topics, places)
- converting audio-visual recordings to text and performing content extraction, summarisation tasks and sentiment analysis
- automatic tagging of documents for certain types of entity (people or organisation names, location names, brand names).
