How to do a content anD findability assessment

Before you start improving the findability of content in your organization, it’s essential to do a reality check and get a sense of your current content landscape: what content you have, how everything is stored, how everything is being used, who the key users are.

Based on real-world examples, this session explains how to do a content and findability assessment and plan your short/middle/long term action plan to improve findability (based on real-life case studies). You will need to review your content and your information architecture, identify gaps and improvement opportunities in relation to your organization's key activities, and create an implementation plan. This session will use Microsoft 365 as an example, but the basic principles can be applied to any content environment.

  • Landscape and gap analysis;
  • Why your information architecture is important;
  • Suggestions and recommendations;
  • Options for enhancing search, including the use of taxonomy and metadata;
  • Where and why you might need custom search application(s);
  • Recommend roadmap and action plan;
  • Governance and maintenance.
